Those living outside of Seward County, Nebraska have the opportunity to either purchase a complete set of Leading to Reading postcards or subscribe to have the postcards mailed monthly to a child until age five.

Leading to Reading is a language development aid that presents parents with milestones and book suggestions for children from newborn to age 5. Postcard sets include 61 cards, color-coded by year, which become a basis for book selections. Each book is age-appropriate. Each set of postcards is packaged in a clear plastic box.

Leading to Reading postcards are sent monthly to families until the child reaches age 5. Age appropriate reading activities and a suggested book title gently remind families of the importance of reading aloud
